How We Use and Protect Your Information

Effective Date – July 16, 2026

The short version

We collect very little: what you type into our lookup tools, basic technical data, and anything you send us directly. Search queries are kept only to research and improve our tools. We never sell, rent, or trade any of your data — not your searches, not your contact details, not anything. Lookup results come from third-party providers in real time, and we don’t keep them. If you continue to a partner for a full report, their privacy policy takes over and we may earn a commission. Details below.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ReverseThatLookup.com (“ReverseThatLookup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website, use our lookup tools, contact us, or interact with our services (collectively, the “Service”). It forms part of our Terms of Service.

By using ReverseThatLookup.com, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the website or services.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. We collect information you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, email address, message details, or other information you submit through contact forms, support requests, removal requests, or direct communication with us.

Search queries. When you use a lookup tool, we collect the search input you submit — for example, the phone number, email address, or other identifier you look up. See Section 5 for how this data is handled.

Technical information. We may also collect basic technical information automatically when you use the website, including browser type, device type, IP address, pages visited, referring URLs, approximate location, and cookie or analytics data.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • operate the website and deliver lookup results;
  • research, develop, and improve our lookup tools and services;
  • maintain site security, enforce rate limits, and prevent fraud, scraping, and abuse;
  • measure performance and understand how visitors use our pages; and
  • respond to and communicate with users who contact us.

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose for compensation any personal information about our visitors or customers — including your search queries, contact details, or technical data — to any third party, for any purpose.

This applies to all data we collect, without exception. Sharing with the service providers who help us run the website, as described in Section 8, is not a sale, and those providers may only use your information to provide services to us.

5. Search Queries and Lookup Results

How lookups work. When you run a search, your query is transmitted in real time to independent third-party data providers, who return the results we display to you. Lookup results may be drawn from public records, publicly available sources, third-party databases, directories, and other information sources. We are not the source of the underlying records and do not maintain our own database of people-search data.

What we keep. We retain the search queries submitted to our tools solely for internal research and product improvement — for example, understanding which lookup types are most useful and improving result quality. Search queries are not used to build marketing profiles, are not sold or shared for compensation, and are not disclosed to anyone except as described in Section 8. We do not retain copies of the lookup results returned by our data providers.

About the data in results. Public-record and lookup data may be incomplete, outdated, duplicated, or connected to a previous owner, user, resident, subscriber, or account holder. Lookup results should be treated as leads to verify, not as guaranteed identity confirmations.

6. Partner Referrals and Commissions

Full reports and expanded search products are offered by independent third-party partners. If you choose to continue to a partner, any information you provide to them is governed by that partner’s own privacy policy and terms — not this policy. We do not receive or store the contents of partner reports.

ReverseThatLookup may receive a commission or other compensation when you follow a referral link to a partner or purchase a partner’s product. This does not change the price you pay, and it does not involve the sale of your personal information.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking

We may use cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies to improve site performance, remember preferences, understand visitor behavior, and measure traffic. Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser.

Some third-party partners, such as analytics providers or advertisers, may also use cookies or similar technologies. We do not control third-party cookies. You can disable or limit cookies through your browser settings.

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting DNT signals, the website does not currently respond to them.

8. Information Sharing

We may share information with service providers who help us operate the website, deliver lookup results, analyze traffic, provide technical support, prevent abuse, or respond to user requests. These providers may use information only as needed to provide services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to investigate misuse, to prevent fraud or security threats, or to comply with legal processes such as subpoenas or court orders.

If our business is reorganized — for example, formation of a company, merger, or acquisition — information we hold may be transferred to the successor entity, which will remain bound by this policy or one that is at least as protective.

9. Data Retention

We keep information you send us directly (such as support or removal requests) for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a record of it. Search queries are retained for as long as they remain useful for the research and product-improvement purposes described in Section 5. Technical logs are retained for a limited period for security and performance monitoring. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

10. Your Choices and Control

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you provided directly to us — including search queries associated with identifiers you control. We honor reasonable requests regardless of where you live.

If you believe information associated with you appears in lookup results, you may contact us to ask about available removal or suppression options. Please note that public records and third-party data may also exist outside ReverseThatLookup — removing or updating information through us may not remove it from government records, public sources, search engines, or third-party providers, including the data providers and partners whose products are available through the Service.

11. Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect information submitted through the website, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no website, database, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If you contact us about a privacy or removal request, avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information. We will only ask for information needed to review and respond to the request.

12. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party websites, services, tools, or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party websites. Review their policies before submitting information to them.

13. Children’s Privacy

ReverseThatLookup is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the Service may not be used to search for or gather information about anyone under 18, as described in our Terms of Service. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after updates means you accept the revised policy.

15. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at support@reversethatlookup.com or through our Contact Us page.
