Understanding the Fair Credit Reporting Act

The Fair Credit Reporting Act, commonly called the FCRA, regulates how consumer reports may be used for certain decisions, including employment, credit, insurance, tenant screening, and other eligibility determinations.
ReverseThatLookup is not a consumer reporting agency. We do not provide consumer reports and our tools may not be used for purposes regulated by the FCRA.

ReverseThatLookup was built for informational and personal-use public-record research. Our tools may help users review unknown phone numbers, emails, usernames, addresses, names, or other public clues.

You May Not Use ReverseThatLookup For
Employment Screening
You may not use ReverseThatLookup to evaluate a person for employment, reassignment, promotion, retention, or workplace eligibility.
Household Worker Screening
You may not use ReverseThatLookup to screen household workers, including nannies, caregivers, domestic workers, contractors, or similar roles.
Tenant Screening
You may not use ReverseThatLookup to evaluate a person for renting, leasing, or occupying residential or commercial property.
Educational Qualification
You may not use ReverseThatLookup to evaluate a person’s qualifications for an educational program, scholarship, grant, or similar opportunity.
Credit or Insurance
You may not use ReverseThatLookup to assess credit risk, determine credit eligibility, evaluate insurance eligibility, or review existing credit obligations.
Business Transactions Initiated by an Individual Customer
You may not use ReverseThatLookup to review a personal customer account or determine whether a person continues to meet the terms of an account.
Violations
Using ReverseThatLookup for prohibited FCRA purposes violates our Terms of Service and may violate the law. We take misuse seriously and reserve the right to restrict access, terminate accounts, block usage, and report misuse where appropriate.
Consumer Reporting Agencies
If you need a consumer report for a legally permissible purpose, use a qualified consumer reporting agency. ReverseThatLookup has no affiliation with the following services and provides these names only as examples of consumer reporting and screening providers:
Credit reporting: TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian.
Employment screening: Examples include Sterling, Integrascan, and SentryLink.
